Augusta, Maine Wineries - Sprague & Curtis Real Estate

Fall is perhaps the perfect season to tour Augusta homes for sale in Maine. The weather is excellent, and the foliage is alive with color. When you need a break from house hunting, Augusta is the perfect place for a sip of New England Wine.

In case you didn't know, Maine is wine country. You'll find quaint wine bars and secluded wineries throughout the area. To help you choose the perfect spot place to enjoy a glass of wine, our real estate agents did the research and compiled a guide to our favorite wineries in Augusta, Maine.

  • Two Hogs Winery - 186 Mudget Hill Rd, Vassalboro, ME
Two Hogs Winery was an idea that began with a sip of a friend's homemade wine and shared wine recipes. The winery now offers red and white varieties, all made with fresh local fruit. Every bottle bears a drawing of the winery's namesake, two hogs on motorcycles.

  • Uncorked Wine & Cheese - 145 Civic Center Dr, Augusta, ME 04330
Uncorked Wine & Cheese markets a unique selection of offerings hand-picked by the owner. They sell boutique wines you can't find anywhere else, as well as domestic and imported beers. They also sell imported cheeses created with sheep and goat milk. Uncorked is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. They hold special events on Sundays and Mondays.

  • Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery - 175 Barrett Hill Rd, Union, ME 04862
People kept telling the owners of Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery that they couldn't grow wine grapes in Maine. Fortunately, they didn't listen. They continued searching until they found grape varieties that would thrive during the short Maine growing season. The winery allows the owners to maintain their family farm as a working farm. They have lots of room, so they host weddings, a special summer concert series, and other special events. In addition to wine, the farm also sells meats and eggs.

  • Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery - 347 Carroll Rd, Union, ME 04862
The owners of Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery invite you to visit their wine tasting room on the farm to buy your favorite vintage. If you can't make it, you can order favorites like NV Maine Hard Apple Cider, Cranberry Smash, or NV Beaujolais online. With an M.Ss in Food Science and Winemaking, Keith Bodine is the science guy behind the operation. Constance Bodine is at home in the fields, and the office and is known as the heart, brains, and soul of the business.

  • Younity Winery & Vineyards - 317 Albion Rd, Unity, ME 04988
Clem, the Barefoot Vintner and his wife, Jeri, say life is too short to be normal. That's why Younity Winery & Vineyards sells non-traditional wines with names like Pie-Eyed, The Palmer Sisters', and Rhumpkinstiltskin. The wine-tasting room is closed for the season, but you can buy their wine online and in shops all over Maine. By the way, they spell it "Younity" instead of "Unity" because they believe that, "YOU are our Maine ingredient."

  • Tree Spirits - 152 Fairfield St, Oakland, ME 04963
Bruce Olson, the owner of Tree Spirits, creates award-winning wines. Everything about the winery has local ties. They make wine with local agricultural products and maple syrup. Local artists create their artwork, and they use local printers. You can visit their tasting room or purchase wine in shops throughout Maine and online.
