Who said home improvement projects had to take a long time?

If you're thinking of putting your home on the market, you want it to stand out from other Augusta homes for sale. Making home improvements -- both large and small -- can help.

Here are some home improvement projects that can be completed in one weekend.

  1. Spray Paint your Hardware
If you want to be up to date, spraypaint your doorknobs, hinges, drawer pulls, and any other hardware to darker shades, such as bronze, nickel, or even black. Remove hardware, clean it, and degrease it; prime the surface with an oil-based primer; then spray on the paint. Seal the hardware with lacquer or clear sealer.

Spring Landscaping Tips
Spring arrives March 19 bringing with it more sunshine and warmer temperatures. Now is the perfect time to make your plans about how to turn your yard into a beautiful outdoor paradise!

Make your landscaping stand out before you list your home! Our real estate agents compiled these landscaping tips and trends to help spruce up your Augusta homes for sale

  1. Plants and Gardening
Trees, plants, and shrubs are essential in landscaping. However, the trend is leaning towards minimizing time spent gardening and maximizing living. Have the fall and winter months left your landscaping in need of a spring refresh?

If you're buying or selling a home in the coming months, landscaping is more important than ever. Our real estate agents always recommend sprucing up your curb appeal before listing. Augusta Libraries

Dr. Seuss wrote of Great Places where "your mountain is waiting," and there are wonderful heights waiting to be scaled at the library. Is there a more fitting way to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday than Read Across America Day?

On Monday, March 2, take the whole family for a visit to one of these amazing local libraries suggested by our real estate agents.

  1. Lithgow Public Library - 45 Winthrop St., Augusta, ME 04330
With funding that included a $9,000 gift from iconic philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the Lithgow Public Library opened in 1896. The library is named after Llewellyn Lithgow, a local merchant and book lover with a wonderfully alliterative name who bequeathed $20,000. The library has kept in step with today's technology. Computers are available for use by all residents around Augusta homes for sale, with or without a library card, and free WiFi is offered for guests using their own digital devices. Lithgow Public Library is open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
