Holiday Events Kennebec Valley

The Kennebec Valley is the place to be during the holiday season. To help you get in the holiday spirit, our REALTORS® highly recommend adding the following events coming to the nearby area to your calendar.

  1. Madison Christmas Celebration - 26 Weston Ave, Madison, ME 04950
As you ponder Madison homes for sale, make sure you take some time to join in the Madison Christmas Celebration. This year's event takes place on December 6th and 7th. As always, they will have plenty of hot cocoa warming stations, horse and carriage rides, a craft fair, and Gingerbread House Contest. For the grand finale, you will be treated to a holly jolly parade that wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show.

  2. The Nutcracker - Waterville Opera House - 1 Common St, Waterville, ME 04901
If you play your cards right, you might run into a sugar plum fairy who can help you find the perfect Waterville homes for sale to put your tree up next year. This year's performances of The Nutcracker will take place on Friday, December 13th, at 7 pm, and on Sunday, December 15th, at 2 pm. This family favorite is an area tradition that you won't want to miss. It truly is a magical experience, and the ballet dancers are some of the finest you will find this side of Moscow.

  3. Harbor Lights Festival - Downtown Boothbay Harbor
Boothbay Harbor comes alive during the holiday season. As the nights get longer and the lights go up around town, downtown gets ready for the Harbor Lights Festival. This year's festival starts at 9 am on December 7th and features a Craft Show at the Boothbay Harbor Fire Station, the Festival of Trees at the Opera House, and horse-drawn wagon rides throughout the afternoon.

You might have heard the rumors that Santa is coming to town, and if you come at 1 pm you will see he has ditched the reindeer this year and chosen to come by boat. As the light starts to fade and sun sinks into the horizon, there will be a live Nativity at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a lighted boat parade. All the fun and festivities are guaranteed to get you in the mood to think about putting the keys for one of the beautiful Boothbay Harbor homes for sale under your tree this year.

  4. Boothbay North Pole Express - Boothbay Railway Village - 586 Wiscasset Rd, Boothbay, ME 04537
From November 30th until December 22nd, your family can take a ride on the North Pole Express. Tickets for this magical adventure get you into the historic 1912 Freeport Station, where you can start your journey with a personal letter to Santa himself. When it's time to leave, the conductor will take your tickets and letters, then usher you to your seats aboard this fabulous ride. You will arrive at the North Pole at Thorndike Station, where jolly ole' Saint Nick and the missus' will be ready to greet you.
