With 1,000 acres of protected land encompassing a number of different habitats, Hidden Valley Nature Center provides a stunning backdrop for winter activities near Jefferson homes for sale. More than 25 miles of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing wind around the pet-friendly center's grounds. Northern Outdoors is ground central for Maine's extensive network of snowmobiling trails and is about an hour's drive north of Augusta homes for sale. Reward yourself after an invigorating day of outdoor activity with food and beverages at Cushnoc Brewing Co. The name, a Native American term meaning "head of tide," pays tribute to Augusta's roots as a trading post and military supply depot. Beers on tap may include varieties such as Abominable Snow Pants, Understated Elegance, and Axis of Sour: Cranberry. Cushnoc's exquisite craft brews are matched by their signature wood-fired pizzas, topped with Yukon Gold potatoes, crab claw meat, and other gourmet ingredients.
