Kennebec Valley Cafes

Just hearing the word "cafe" conjures up a warm, cozy feeling. Whether they want to linger for a bit or just grab some joe to go, our real estate agents love these delightful Kennebec Valley cafes.

  • Selah Tea Cafe - 117 Main St., Waterville, ME 04901
The owners of Selah Tea Cafe want everyone who walks in to have their own unique and exceptional experience. Their menu of specialty drinks includes bubble tea, chai, horchata, and caramel macchiato. Start your day with a nourishing açai bowl, or go old school with the Selah Breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. For lunch, choose from sandwiches, salads, and flatbread pizza. Selah Tea Cafe is open weekdays from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Wild Clover Café & Market - 16 Silver St., Waterville, ME 04901
Tanya McCarthy, owner of Wild Clover Café & Market, was inspired to open the shop after growing up in a globe-trotting family. The cafe's display case is always filled with picture-perfect, internationally-inspired baked goods that taste as good as they look. Recent choices include chicken tikka masala puffs, Reuben croissants, and Swedish princess cake. The menu features four gourmet styles of tartines, a French term for open-faced sandwiches. Take a holiday break to catch up with a friend over Tea for Two, which is available in regular and veggie versions at $39 for 90 minutes. Hours are noon - 3:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

  • Traverse Coffee - 140 Water St., Hallowell, ME 04347
Every visit to Traverse Coffee benefits both you and the community around Hallowell homes for sale. Five percent of all profits go to local charities that find welcoming foster and adoptive homes for children. Enjoy a beautiful view of the Kennebec River as you sip on a cortado, London Fog, or turtle latte. In the mood for food? Traverse Coffee offers breakfast sandwiches and paninis, along with pastries from local bakeries such as Goldfinch Creamery and Nellie's Kitchen. Hours are 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday.

  • Wrapped Up Coffee House & Kitchen - 216 Water St., Augusta, ME 04330
Wrapped Up Coffee House & Kitchen, down the street from Augusta homes for sale, is truly like two shops in one. One "side" offers a wide selection of coffee, tea, and specialty drinks along with baked goods and hot breakfast items. If you're watching your caffeine intake, try one of the MUD/WTR drinks made with an organic coffee alternative. The kitchen "side" is anchored by their signature gourmet wraps. More than a dozen options, including To Thai For and Jimi the Greek, highlight a variety of international cuisines. Wrapped Up is open weekdays from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Mary Low Coffee House - Mayflower Hill Dr., Waterville, ME 04901
Named for the residence hall that serves as home, Mary Low Coffee House is run by students from Colby College. The cafe was founded in the 1960s, during the heyday of coffee houses. In 2016, a dedicated group of students decided to revitalize and reopen the shop. With the addition of new flooring, furniture, and outside seating, Mary Low Coffee House is once again a lively part of the campus, hosting open mic nights, live music, and meetings. Hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily except Saturday, when the cafe opens 9 p.m. - 11 p.m. for Saturday Night Live.
