Augusta Events
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the end of summer. As we look forward to the final glorious full month of summer, our real estate agents are eager to share these exciting upcoming events and festivals in and around Augusta, Maine.

  • 8/17: United Community Living Center's Parking Lot Yard Sale - 76 Community Dr, Augusta, ME 04330
One of the biggest yard sale events of the year takes place at the Augusta Civic Center on August 17. The Parking Lot Yard Sale will take over the Civic Center parking lot, offering a chance to browse an amazing selection of vintage and second-hand treasures. Walkable from many Augusta homes for sale, the yard sale will help raise funds for the UCLC's community outreach efforts. Donations of gently-used items for the sale are also ongoing.

  • 8/21: Silent Films in Maine - 16 Cony St, Augusta, ME 04330
Film buffs and fans of local history will certainly want to mark their calendars for Wednesday, August 21. That's when the Kennebec Historical Society's Presentation of Silent Films in Maine will arrive at the Augusta City Hall. This free public event will showcase works by filmmaker Edgar Jones, who founded a film production company in Augusta to create a series of "North Woods" films from 1919 to 1921.

  • 8/22 - 8/25: Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival - 44 Plains Rd, Litchfield, ME 04350
Spanning four days packed with great music, the Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival returns to the Litchfield Fairgrounds this summer. Just 20 minutes south of Augusta, the festival features a great lineup, including bands from all over the country alongside Maine's own Blistered Fingers bluegrass band. The Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival has been going strong for more than 30 years and also includes camping accommodations and plenty of food and drink to go around.

  • 8/24 - 9/2: Windsor Fair - 82 Ridge Rd, Windsor, ME 04363
If the Kennebec County Fair in July didn't quite satisfy your desire to ride some rides and take in the carnival atmosphere, don't fret. The annual Windsor Fair returns to the nearby community of Windsor from August 24 through Labor Day. This is one of the biggest fairs of the season in the Kennebec Valley, featuring a 10-day lineup of games, contests, live entertainment, and spectator events.

  • 9/7: Lithgow Library's Food Truck Fest at Mill Park - 2-32 ME-104, Augusta, ME 04330
Augusta's own Lithgow Public Library will be organizing one of the great food truck roundups of the year on September 7. A stone's throw from Downtown Augusta, the Lithgow Library's Food Truck Fest at Mill Park will include a diverse array of food trucks from 12 to 4 pm in the park, along with live music. The event is intended to highlight Library Card Signup Month, and it offers an opportunity to explore what your local library has to offer.
