In May, the vendors move from the Winter Market location in the Buker Center to the outdoor Summer Market location at Mill Park, officially ushering in the season of warm weather and fresh produce. Just minutes from many Augusta homes for sale, the Augusta Farmers Market takes place on Tuesdays from 2 to 6 pm. A unique and eclectic market that is held a handful of times each season, Augusta's Ritual Market is an excellent place to shop for one-of-a-kind handmade items. A local favorite since 2009, the East Vassalboro Farmers Market operates from May 14 through September, offering ample opportunities to browse the widely varied offerings. You'll find an abundance of produce from local farmers here, along with meats, dairy products, honey, maple syrup, and other farm-fresh goods. The market takes place at the Vassalboro Grange on Main Street on Fridays from 2 to 6 pm. Vendors change from month to month, and the market also offers live music and other entertainment. - Hallowell Farmers Market at Stephens Commons - Beech St, Hallowell, ME 04347
Taking place Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm, the Hallowell Farmers Market is the ideal place to pick up fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, live plants, and all kinds of fresh, local products. Vendors set up in the parking lot, and the offerings often change from one week to the next. The season for the market is May through October, but occasional pop-up events are held during the winter months as well. - Downtown Waterville Farmers Market - Head of Falls, Front St, Waterville, ME 04901
Just 25 miles north of Augusta along the Kennebec River, the town of Waterville hosts its own weekly farmers market year-round. Held indoors during the colder months, the Downtown Waterville Farmers Market moves outside from May through October, with 30-plus vendors setting up along the Concourse in the heart of Waterville. The market happens on Thursdays from 2 to 6 pm, and it's a great place to experience Maine agriculture at its finest. Attendees often head home with everything from fresh eggs and organic produce to local honey and handmade soaps and beauty products.
