There are few things as breathtaking as autumn in Maine. Home to over 17 million acres of forest, the state holds the distinction of having more tree-covered land than any other state in America.
Although the peak viewing season varies from year-to-year depending on the weather, those visiting Maine between the last week of September and the third week of October are sure to be wowed by the gorgeous red, gold, and purple hues surrounding them.
One of the most well-known areas to view the fall foliage is Kennebec Valley. With almost 5,000 square miles of wooded area, the valley stretches North to South across much of the state, beginning at the Capitol city of Augusta and ending in the Canadian province of Quebec. Although almost every stretch of the valley offers beautiful views of the changing leaves, some locations are stunning. Our REALTORS® are here to share five of the best places in Kennebec Valley to this year's fall colors.
