Dining Options Near the Kennebec River
Running from Moosehead Lake to the Atlantic Ocean, the Kennebec River is one of Maine's most prominent bodies of water. It passes right through Augusta, and there are plenty of areas where you can enjoy a stunning view of this waterway. If you're in the mood for classic barbecue, Riverfront Barbecue & Grille is the place to go. Located in the Historic Riverfront District, this restaurant is housed in a 1903 building that was originally a warehouse. The atmosphere here is warm, friendly, and welcoming.
Start your meal with an order of Granny K's Cheddar Hush Puppies. They're great for sharing and come with a bourbon mustard dipping sauce. As your entree, you can't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich, although the Memphis rub ribs are also incredible. - Otto's on the River: 287 Water St., Augusta, ME 04330
Otto's on the River is a classic seafood restaurant that would be perfect for date night. The atmosphere is classy, but you'd fit in wearing business casual attire. You can see the Kennebec River from the dining room.

The Quarry is located a bit further down the Kennebec River, giving you a somewhat different perspective. Stop by if you're looking at Hallowell homes for sale! This brewpub has 38 beers on tap, many of which are made in-house. During nice weather, you can dine on their patio or in the beer garden.
When ordering at The Quarry, you can't go wrong with the Little Italy Pizza. It's made with marinara, hot sausage, and mozzarella. Another favorite is the Maine Lobster Roll, which comes on a toasted roll with fries and coleslaw.
