Taste of Waterville

Maine's Kennebec Valley really comes to life in summertime, with a wide range of fairs, festivals, and events. Many of them, including the much-anticipated Taste of Waterville Festival, are just minutes from these Hallowell homes for sale.

Highlighting all the unique flavors of Maine's diverse culinary landscape, Taste of Waterville is now in its 30th year. As we get ready for one of our favorite summertime festivals in Maine, our real estate agents are excited to share more information about Taste of Waterville.

About Taste of Waterville

Taste of Waterville got its start back in 1992 when a group of local business owners decided to put together an event highlighting local restaurants in Waterville. What started as a small and somewhat formal outdoor dining experience has grown by leaps and bounds in the 30 years since, becoming one of the most beloved summer festivals in Maine.

Now organized by the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, Taste of Waterville has grown into a day-long celebration complete with food, drink, games, and live entertainment.

Taste of Waterville 2022

Taste of Waterville returns on August 3, 2022. This year's event is centered around Head of Falls Park, just off Front Street in downtown Waterville. Here's what you can expect:

  • Food - This year's festival is designed to showcase the diversity of Waterville's food scene like never before. Local restaurants will be serving mix-and-match bite samples throughout the day, allowing visitors to sample a wide range of global cuisine as well as American staple comfort foods. There will also be numerous food trucks and "bite booths" dishing out a little bit of everything.

  • Drink - Taste of Waterville also throws the spotlight on Maine's inventive craft breweries, distilleries, and cideries. Festival attendees can purchase a Brew Tasting Card in advance, which includes 16 samples from your choice of more than a dozen brewers, including Jack's Abby Craft Lagers, Long Trail Brewing Company, and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery.

  • Music - It wouldn't be a party without live music! The 2022 Taste of Waterville festival includes a full day of live performances from talented local and regional bands, starting at 1 pm and going all the way until closing time. Chances are, you'll be more than happy to spend your day in front of the large outdoor stage.

  • Games - This year, there's a new event on the lineup that we hope will become an annual tradition: a cornhole tournament for both amateur and professional teams. It's sure to be a lot of fun, and there are also some great prizes involved, including a $1,000 cash payout for first place!

The festivities begin at noon on August 3 and continue until 11 pm. Check out the official Taste of Waterville website for more details!
