Our real estate agents are blessed to live in a place with an incredible variety of orchards, farms, and farm markets where fresh apples are abundant every autumn. Here are some of our favorite places to pick apples in the Kennebec Valley:

Maine State House Facts

As Maine celebrates its bicentennial in 2020, why not learn more about some of the historic landmarks in our area? Our REALTORS® help you get in the spirit by sharing 10 fun facts about one of Maine's most enduring symbols, the Maine State House.

  1. Augusta Beats the Competition
Maine officially became a state on March 15, 1820. At the time, Portland was named temporary capital by being the state's largest city, but many felt Maine would be better served with a more centrally located capital. Brunswick, Hallowell, Waterville, Belfast, and Wiscasset all threw their hats in the ring, but Augusta emerged victoriously.

Augusta Libraries

Dr. Seuss wrote of Great Places where "your mountain is waiting," and there are wonderful heights waiting to be scaled at the library. Is there a more fitting way to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday than Read Across America Day?

On Monday, March 2, take the whole family for a visit to one of these amazing local libraries suggested by our real estate agents.

  1. Lithgow Public Library - 45 Winthrop St., Augusta, ME 04330
With funding that included a $9,000 gift from iconic philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the Lithgow Public Library opened in 1896. The library is named after Llewellyn Lithgow, a local merchant and book lover with a wonderfully alliterative name who bequeathed $20,000. The library has kept in step with today's technology. Computers are available for use by all residents around Augusta homes for sale, with or without a library card, and free WiFi is offered for guests using their own digital devices. Lithgow Public Library is open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
